Here is a colorful view of the He'eia Fishpond and Kane'ohe Bay, with the soaring Koolau Mountain Range in the background.

He'eia State Park is where you will find this beautiful scenery. It is also a great place to spend a peaceful, quiet day, away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu.

This miniature landscape of the Cape Cod Beach is an ACEO done 

on stretched canvas and sits on a small easel.  It is available in my ETSY shop.  

The canvas measures 21/2x31/2 inc. 

 I really enjoy these small paintings on my desk or to give as gifts to friends.  It's great, they don't have to find wall space.  It has a very small footprint.

4x4 mini, so I decided to try it again, this time in palette knife style.

I had driven by this scene in Colorado many times as it is near my brother's ranch.  It was striking how the aged trees cast shadows creating an oasis in the hot dry farm land.  There were lots of hardy little wild sunflowers bobbing in the breeze.

This painting is available the month of May at the Ogden Arts Gallery in Ogden, UT.  It is on exhibit with the Palette Club of Ogden Spring competition.

Lanikai means "Heavenly Sea", and I can't argue with that. The blues, aquas, and turquoise in the waters here are absolutely gorgeous. This is a view looking towards the "Heavenly Sea" from Kailua Beach.

COLORFUL TIDES OF K-BAY ~ Lisabongzee's Island Dream Life

Kaneohe Bay on a calm, clear morning is truly spectacular. The tranquil glassy water reflects the handful of colorful dinghies that bob gently, turning with the changing tides. An occasional motorboat can be heard in the distance. The majestic Koolau Mountain range makes this a magical landscape that never fails to inspire me!

KAILUA BEACH Mini Oil Paintings ~ Lisabongzee's Island Dream Life

Kailua Beach is a great place to spend the day. It is quite scenic, with views of the Mokuluas of Lanikai in the background.

Here are two small oil paintings, depicting some of the colorful sights you will see at Kailua Beach!

The gorgeous turquoise water makes you want to grab your raft, kayak, canoe, sailboat.... anything just to be out there, enjoying Paradise!

This is the lifeguard tower located on Kailua Beach, near the Canoe Hale. Being out in the beautiful Hawaiian sunshine, watching kitesurfers, sunbathers, and puppies playing in the sand all day is a pretty good 9-5 !

To celebrate the leap year, last February I ran a challenge. To make 29 faces in the month. Any size, materials, styles... Any level of experience. As many as you can do, and it is OK to show work not finished...
This is the perfect time to try new things, mess up, fix, repaint!
We all had so much fun!  I made a slide show with my work:
